Good News and still waiting!

Sorry for the delay in posting!

I do have some good news! After all manner of tests, I have been deemed safe to wait until February for a follow-up CT scan! YEAH!!! Thank you, God, for watching over me because I am Yours (Psalm 119:94-96).

All of the testing that has been done has been to make sure that the source of pain is not something other than the thymus. So, as of now, I know that my heart is great (just a flailing chord in the left ventricle, but that's fine, considering that the flow and valves are good), my esophagus is great (thank you, MD Anderson for that delicious barium shake!) and my lungs are clear. Yes, it is good to know that all of those vital areas are functioning and behaving properly!

The thymus has not changed and the spleen has become just slightly more enlarged. However, my blood counts have remained excellent. So, we feel like it is a great thing to wait. I am still quite uncomfortable and continue to find rest very difficult. If when the scan is done, they find that the thymus has grown, they will remove it. If it remains unchanged, they will consider radiation treatments (but may still remove it). If it shrinks, they will allow it even more time to 'self-resolve'. I am asking you to pray with me that the dern thing WILL BE GONE when the scan is repeated.

Great news!

I have promised Larry that I will not take on any new responsibilities or commitments without much prayer and talking with him. (This is something that I tend to do a lot!) I am still supposed to rest a lot. However, I think I have the most excruciating case of cabin fever. Really, I haven't even been confined to the house or bed. I think that it's just the fact that I am tired of being tired. I have a compulsion to run around the town and do stuff. Nothing major. Just get out and run around. You know, the "Let's Just Skip Over To Ikea" feeling. I do still get winded and run-down quickly though. So, I think that I will follow the orders of both my husband and doctor.

Over all, it continues to be a "Be Still and Know" season!
