Honestly, it is quite possible that I did! I have always had a propensity to absent-mindedly place things in the most random of locations. However, I think that this time it was the shortest member of our household. Caleb has become fascinated with the many buttons and knobs in the kitchen. His most recent love is the dishwasher. He sporadically stops or starts the dern thing throughout the day. He loves to switch the lock from one side to the other. (Have no fear, I have removed the knobs from the front of the stove!)
He is not hurting anything, but opening the door and placing a tennis ball inside is a bit overboard. But then, I should give him the benefit of the doubt, considering that it has been my pattern of behavior to misplace items!
***Health Update*** Monday, my parents watched the two little guys (the two big guys were at school) and Larry went along with me for the tests that the new doctor had scheduled. What was initially supposed to be a one hour echocardiogram morphed into two hours, then it was a quick trek down to the second floor for labwork. I have never felt more like a cow... just waiting for my turn to head down the chute. The diagnostic lab had a one hour wait when I signed in. Larry and I made complete idiots of ourself playing a game on his phone. I finally felt like we should grow up a bit and look as irritated about the wait as the rest of the people around us, but that wasn't nearly as fun!
We won't get any results until next Wednesday. The doctor that I have been matched with in the Internal Medicine Center only has clinic appointments on Wednesday. This Wednesday was already full, so we are scheduled on the 22nd. I am beginning to understand what one woman at church said when I was initally accepted at MD Anderson: "The care is exceptional, the process is tedious." She couldn't have been more correct! My friend, Regan, is familiar with the place also. Her grandmother was being treated there for the same type of cancer that Larry's dad dealt with. In fact, they were being treated at the same time, with her at MD Anderson and Larry's father at Methodist Hospital. Regan commented that MD Anderson knows nothing about instant gratification! Too true, my friend, too true!
I suppose I could sum it all up by saying, When we hear something, we will let everyone know. More waiting seems to be in store! Until then, I should go look around and see where the tennis ball is now!
